Back in the summer of 2008, when I was just about a couple of months old in the city of Chennai, I figured out the crazy way they spelled names in this part of the country. I had covered my experiences in two of my earlier posts here and here. Today morning as I was coming to work I saw these huge posters stuck across the city walls welcoming Rahul Gandhi, the rising young politician of the Congress party and the scion of the Gandhi family. I was reminded of my early days in the city when I was so appalled at my name being spelled and pronounced incorrectly as Saad AGHmed. I can finally live in peace now. If they can screw Rahul Gandhi's name and get away I should not waste my energy trying to fight this movement.
